Parks & Recreation Facilities Update - March 20, 2020
As part of its evolving response to the COVID-19 outbreak, and with guidance from Public Health - Seattle & King County (PHSKC), the City of Mercer Island is closing all park playgrounds, sport courts, and picnic shelters, effective immediately.
On Saturday morning, March 21, parks staff will post signage at these facilities and at nearby park entrances. The City's many parks, trails, and open spaces will remain OPEN, as will park restrooms provided park patrons adhere to Public Health guidelines. The Aubrey Davis Park Picnic Shelter is a 30' x 25' covered shelter with seating at eight tables for 64 people. There are three park grills, a drinking fountain, two 20 amp electrical outlets, a children's play area and a 200' x 150' grass play area.
The Picnic Shelter is located approximately 300 feet from the parking lot under the 72nd Avenue overpass.
The Aubrey Davis Picnic Shelter can be rented from May through September. Please check with the Parks Facility Coordinator or consult posted schedules at the Shelter to confirm availability.
NEW: Picnic areas are available for full-day reservation only.
Additional picnic areas are available for rent at Luther Burbank Park.
