Development Services Ombudsman

The Development Services Ombudsman provides support to residents, businesses and permit applicants with concerns related to permitting, construction and the City’s regulatory process. The Ombudsman is a neutral agent, who will field concerns, provide information, mediate conflict and investigate complaints.

The Ombudsman also acts as a problem-solving liaison between contractors and the city, helping to resolve conflicts that arise related to the entitlement process, permitting, and general regulatory procedures.

At times, land development and the associated permitting processes can be complex. The Ombudsman will strive to improve information exchange and coordination between staff and interested parties. The Ombudsman helps to identify areas that need process improvements and coordinates efforts to design and implement changes.
