KIDS C.A.R.E. Program

KIDS C.A.R.E. is a program developed by Dana Fisk & the Mercer Island Fire Department . Dana, an Island citizen who is a nurse at Harborview Medical Center, created the program in 1994 and it was first launched at Lakeridge Elementary School. The program has since expanded to other Island elementary schools. This program, as designed by this team, is the first of its kind in the nation.

The KIDS C.A.R.E. program was adapted from the Kids Cardiac Life Support Program developed by Margaret Franckowiak in the 1980's. KIDS C.A.R.E. is designed to be age appropriate and to build on previous year's skills.
