Medical Information & Injury Prevention
The Mercer Island Fire Department is committed to reducing injuries and accidental/premature death. Education is an effective tool in the process of achieving this objective.
The Mercer Island Fire Department addresses injury prevention and meeting other medical needs within our community, on many fronts. This includes public education - starting at the earliest ages feasible, continuing through our most senior citizens. It includes providing classes in cpr; first aid; and public access defibrillation; back injury prevention classes; interaction with nursing facilities for increasing cooperation and efficiencies. And finally, it includes the continual education and implementation by fire personnel of the latest information, techniques, and programs for the prevention of injuries.
The following Injury Prevention and Medical Information pages provide information and a number of resources to educate the community in topics such as cpr classes, injury prevention, water safety, EMS-NO CPR directives, and more.
Please feel free to contact us if you are looking for something in particular, and do not find it on this website - we will attempt to find the proper resource and post it.
