Biennial Citizen Satisfaction Survey Underway
Apr 20, 2018 - Every two years, the City commissions a scientific survey of Island residents to assess satisfaction with its services, identify strengths and weaknesses, prioritize action steps, and improve service delivery.
Approximately 2,000 randomly selected households will be receiving surveys over the coming week in the mail from ETC Institute on behalf of the City of Mercer Island. There are three ways to complete the survey: return by mail, complete online, or by calling ETC Institute directly. If your household is selected, please take time to complete it - your opinion matters to the City!
The City's goal is to collect survey responses from a total of 400 households, which will ensure with a high level of reliability (statistical significance) that the responses accurately reflect the opinions of the wider Island community.
"We believe this is a great way to hear from our residents," says City Manager Julie Underwood. "Reliable survey data helps us make smart decisions about how to prioritize City spending and services, and it gives us a good read on what our entire community wants, including those who don't typically engage with local government."
Final survey results will be presented to the City Council in May and posted on the City's website. To view the results of surveys from prior years, which were conducted by phone, click here.
