Westbound I-90 Floating Bridge CLOSED Due to Wind and Waves

Feb 18, 2018 - (2:30pm) The Washington State Dept of Transportation (WSDOT) has announced that it has temporarily CLOSED the Westbound I-90 floating bridge due to strong Northerly sustained winds and high waves.

Westbound traffic must exit at the Island Crest Way ramp on Mercer Island.

Eastbound I-90 remains OPEN.

When windspeeds reach 26mph and wave heights reach 2feet, the WESTBOUND direction of the I-90 floating bridge is closed to prevent damage. The bicycle and pedestrian path is also closed. Emergency vehicles will be allowed access.

There is currently no estimated time for re-opening.
